人のものををしふると申すは車のおもけれども油をぬりてまわり・ふねを水にうかべて ゆきやすきやうにをしへ候なり - Teaching another something is the same as oiling the wheels of a cart so that they turn even though it is heavy, or as floating a boat on water so that it moves ahead easily.

通解

人がものを教えるというのは、車が重かったとしても、油を塗ることによって車輪が回り、船を水に浮かべて行きやすくなるように教えるのである。
