第六天（だいろくてん）の魔王（まおう）・十軍（じゅうぐん）のいくさ（戦）を・をこして（起こして）・法華経の行者と生死海（しょうじかい）の海中（かいちゅう）にして 同居穢土（どうこ えど）を・とられじ・うばはんと・あらそう（取られじ・奪わんと・争う）、日蓮 其の身（その み）にあひあたりて（相当たりて）大兵（たいへい）を・をこして二十余年なり、日蓮 一度もしりぞく心なし

通解

第六天の魔王は、十種の魔の軍勢を率いて戦（いくさ）を起こし、法華経の行者を相手に、生死の苦しみの海の中で、同居穢土（凡夫と聖人が共に住んでいる国土＝娑婆世界）を、「とられまい」「奪おう」と争っている。日蓮は、その第六天の魔王と戦う身にあって、大きな戦を起こして、二十数年になる。その間、日蓮一度も退く心はない。

意訳

第六天魔王は、「欲望」、「憂い、悲しみ」「飢えや喉の渇き」「疑いの心」など、１０種類の心の迷いを法華経の行者の心の内面に起こして、その人の信心をやめさせようとする。生命の根本的な悩みである生死の苦しみをはじめ、様々な苦悩が混在する現実社会（娑婆世界）を生きていく中、自身の生命の内面では「仏と魔との戦い」が常に起きている。
日蓮仏法の始祖である日蓮大聖人は、様々な難や魔が競う事を覚悟の上で、「南無妙法蓮華経」の五字七字を弘める戦いを起こしたのである。その間、「日蓮一度もしりぞく心なし」と勝ち抜かれた。私達弟子も、仏の境涯を開くためには、自身の魔の軍勢と戦い、勝ち抜いていかなければならないのである。


English Translations

" The Great Battle "

 The devil king of the sixth heaven has roused the ten kinds of troops and, in the midst of the sea of the sufferings of birth and death, is at war with the votary of the Lotus Sutra to stop him from taking possession of and to wrest away from him this impure land where both ordinary people and sages dwell.
It has been twenty or more years now since I found myself in that situation and began the great battle. Not once have I thought of retreat.

Interpretation [ liberal translation ]

 The devil king of the sixth heaven has Ten kind of hesitation, causes "greed", "sorrow", "the thirst of starvation and the throat",  such as "the doubt" in the inside of the heart of the Buddhist, and going to stop his faith.
"Fights with the Buddha-nature and the devil spirit" are always up in the inside of the life of own while various sufferings live in mixed reality society [The reality world] including the pains of the life and death that are a basic trouble of the life.
Nichiren who was the founder of the Nichiren Buddhism, he woke up a fight to escalate five characters or seven characters of "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo" at the risk of various difficulties and devils competing.
Meanwhile, it was attained a full victory " Not once have I thought of retreat".
We disciples must a full victory the fight with The devil troops of own to open attain The Buddhahood.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.
