合掌とは法華経の異名なり 向仏（こうぶつ）とは法華経に値い奉る（あい たてまつる）と云うなり 合掌は色法（しきほう）なり 向仏は心法（しんぽう）なり、色心（しきしん）の二法を妙法と開悟（かいご）するを歓喜踊躍（かんぎ ゆやく）と説くなり

通解（意訳）
　
「合掌」とは法華経の異名である。「向仏」とは、妙法蓮華経にあいたてまつるということである。合掌は色法（肉体・身心の変化の法）の姿であり、向仏とは信心であり、心法（心や精神の変化の法）である。色心の二法を妙法蓮華経であると悟る事を、譬喩品の中で、釈尊の弟子である舎利弗が、喜びのあまり踊り出したと説くのである。
つまり、歓喜踊躍（歓喜のあまり身体は踊りだし、心はいきいきとしていて、その人の身心の生命が躍動する姿）が色法と心法がかけ離れたものではなく一体の姿（色心不二）なのであり、歓喜踊躍と説くのであり、この歓喜こそ法華経の真髄の妙法蓮華経と説くのである。

Gasshō [合掌], or “pressing the palms together,” is another name for the Lotus Sutra[ of Myo-ho-renge-kyo ]. Kōbutsu [向仏], or “turning to face the Buddha,” means that one encounters and pays respect to the Lotus Sutra. Pressing the palms together is an element of the body. Turning to face the Buddha is an element of the mind. The passage describes how one dances with joy when one comes to the realization that the elements of the body and the mind are the Wonderful Law.

 [ A body begins to dance in delight for the person, and the heart is vivid, and the life of the person's mind and body is moving in a lively way.

Material world and a heart way are the form of one, not a separate thing, and this form explains this with Lotus Sutra of the quintessence of The Myo-ho-renge-kyo. ]
