夫れ（それ） 無始の生死（むし の しょうじ）を留めて（とどめて） 此の度 決定（けつじょう）して 無上菩提（む じょう ぼ だい）を証せんと思はば すべからく衆生本有の妙理（しゅ じょう ほん ぬ  の みょう り）を観ず（かん ず）べし、衆生本有の妙理 とは・妙法蓮華経 是なり 故に 妙法蓮華経と唱へたてまつれば 衆生本有の妙理を観ずるにて あるなり

そもそも、我々衆生は、計り知れない昔から、生れては死に、死んでは生まれを繰り返し、人間の根本的な苦悩である、生老病死の苦しみの世界を繰り返してきた。この苦しみをとどめ、法華経と縁した今世で、今度こそ必ず仏の境涯を証得し、即身成仏・一生成仏を遂げようと思うなら、すべからく衆生本有の妙理、すなわち、全ての人に本来備わっている仏の生命がありを観ずるべきである。

この、全ての人に本来備わっている仏の生命とは妙法蓮華経である。
ゆえに妙法蓮華経と唱えたてまつるならば、衆生本有の妙理を観ずることができ、凡夫が即身成仏・一生成仏を成し遂げることができる、その根拠を知る事ができるのである。

" On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime "
　
If you wish to free yourself from the sufferings of birth and death you have endured since time without beginning and to attain without fail unsurpassed enlightenment in this lifetime, you must perceive the mystic truth that is originally inherent in all living beings. This truth is Myoho-renge-kyo. Chanting Myoho-renge-kyo will therefore enable you to grasp the mystic truth innate in all life.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
