日蓮が申せし事はあたりたり - “ What Nichiren said was right! It was right! ”

あらおそろし・いまいまし・打ちはれ所を追へ流せ殺せ信ぜん人人をば田はたを・とれ財を奪へ所領をめせと申せしかども、此の五月よりは大蒙古の責めに値いてあきれ迷ふ程に さもやと思う人人もあるやらん、にがにがしうして・せめたくはなけれども 有る事なればあたりたり・あたりたり、日蓮が申せし事はあたりたり・ばけ物のもの申す様にこそ候めれ。

通解（意訳）

南無妙法蓮華経を信じようとしない者達は、「日蓮は実に恐ろしい、実に忌々しい彼を打ち殴れ、この場所から追い出せ、島流しにせよ、殺してしまえ、そして日蓮を信ずる者達には、その田畑を取り上げよ、財産を奪え、所領を没収せよ」と言っていたが、日蓮が立正安国論に書き著した「他国侵逼難（たこくしんぴつなん）」が的中し、今年五月からの大蒙古から攻められはじめた。
この予言が的中したので、慌て迷うようになった人の中には「日蓮が言っている事は、本当にその通りかも知れない」と思う人々もあるだろう。
人のことを悪く言のは不愉快な事なので、言いたくはないけれども、事実で有ることは間違いない事である。日蓮が日頃から言っていた事が当たったのである。
それでも、法華経の行者を誹謗中傷している、大謗法（法華経を犯している大罪）の者は、日蓮が言う事を、まるで化け物が言っているように思っている事だろう。

" Reply to the Honorable Kōnichi "
　
People cried out, “ He’s dangerous, he’s cursed! Beat him, force him out of his dwelling, exile him, kill him, take away the farmlands of his believers, strip them of their wealth, and confiscate their estates! ”
 But because in the fifth month of this year they were subjected to an attack by the great Mongol kingdom, they were amazed and confounded. As a result, it is likely that there are now those who think, “ Perhaps it is just as he said. ”
 It is unpleasant to people, and so they wish to avoid mentioning it. But because it is a fact they cannot help acknowledging, “What Nichiren said was right! It was right!” Some may feel, however, that my words are no more than those of the transformed body of an evil spirit.
