御信心のねのふかく・いさぎよき玉の心のうちに・わたらせ給うか - how deep are the roots of your faith, how pure the jewel in your heart.
大風の草をなびかし・いかづち（雷）の人を をどろかす（脅す）やうに候、よの中（世の中）にいかに いままで 御しんようの（信用の）候いける ふしぎさ（不思議さ）よ、ね（根）ふかければ（深ければ）は かれず（葉 枯れず）・いづみに（泉に）玉あれば水 たえず（絶えず）と申すやうに・御信心のね の ふかく・いさぎよき（潔き）玉の心のうちに・わたらせ給うか、たうとし たうとし（尊し 尊し）

通解（意訳）大風が草をなびかし、雷が人を驚かすように、法華経の行者に対しての迫害や脅迫が激しい今の世の中にあって、今まで日蓮を御信用され、今まで変わることなく清い信心を貫いてきたことは、不思議なことです。根が深ければ葉は枯れず、泉に玉があれば水が絶えないと言われている。信心も同じであり、どれほど強い風が草をなびかせようとしても、信心の根が深く張っているならば、倒れることはない。また心の中に信心の玉が輝いていれば、絶えず功徳の水が湧き出るのである。あなたの心の中に、潔い清らかな信心の玉が輝いているからでしょう。まことに尊いことです。

Where strong winds cause the grasses to bend and flashes of lightning fill people with alarm—in a world such as ours, how wonderful it is that to this day you remain unshaken in your faith!
[ A persecution and a threat are the intense world now to an ascetic of a Lotus Sutra, but you continue clean believing without stopping belief so far. This is a strange thing. ]
They say that when roots are deep, the leaves will not wither; when there is a jewel in the heart of the fountain, its waters will never cease to flow. And how deep are the roots of your faith, how pure the jewel in your heart. How admirable, how admirable!
