法華経は一句一偈も末代に持ちがたし - when compared to the difficulty of embracing even one phrase or verse of the Lotus Sutra in the Latter Day of the Law.

我等（われら）程の小力（しょうりき）の者・須弥山（しゅ み せん）は なぐ（投ぐ）とも 我等程の無通の者・乾草を負うて劫火には・やけずとも 我等程の無智の者・恒沙（がしゃ）の経経をば・よみ をぼう（読み 覚う）とも 法華経は 一句一偈（いっ く いち げ）も末代に持ちがたしと・とかるる（説かるる）は・これ なるべし、今度・強盛の菩提心（ぼ だい しん）を・をこして（おこして）退転せじと願しぬ。

通解（意訳）
　
私達のような力のない者が、須弥山のごとき大山を投げるとしても、私達のような神通のない者が、燃えやすい乾草を背負って劫火のなかをくぐり、しかも焼けないことがあろうとも、私達のような無智の者が、インダス川の砂の数のように膨大な経々を読み覚えることができるとしても、法華経は一句一偈をすら、末法に持つことは困難であると説かれているのは、宝塔品にある六難九易の事なのである。
この事に気づいたので、今度こそ強盛の大菩提心を起こして、いかなる大難に遭っても、絶対に退転しないと誓願したのである。

" The Opening of the Eyes "　Part I
　
Persons like myself who are of paltry strength might still be able to lift Mount Sumeru and toss it about; persons like myself who are lacking in supernatural powers might still shoulder a load of dry grass and yet remain unburned in the fire at the end of the kalpa of decline;65 and persons like myself who are without wisdom might still read and memorize as many sutras as there are sands in the Ganges. But such acts are not difficult, we are told, when compared to the difficulty of embracing even one phrase or verse of the Lotus Sutra in the Latter Day of the Law. Nevertheless, I vowed to summon up a powerful and unconquerable desire for the salvation of all beings and never to falter in my efforts.
