日蓮が弟子旦那等の肝要なり法華経を持つとは是なり - This is what it means to embrace the Lotus Sutra.

久遠実成（く おん じつ じょう）の釈尊と 皆成仏道（かい じょうぶつ どう）の法華経と 我等 衆生との三つ 全く差別無しと 解りて（さと りて）妙法蓮華経と唱え奉る（たてまつ る）処を（ところ を）生死一大事の血脈（しょうじいちだいじ の けちみゃく） とは云うなり、此の事 但（ただ）日蓮が 弟子旦那等の肝要（かんよう）なり 法華経を持（たも ）つとは是なり

通解（意訳）
　
仏界の象徴である久遠実成（永遠の成仏を実らせた）釈尊と、皆成仏道の法華経（皆が仏に成ることを唯一説いている法である、妙法蓮華経）と、私たち衆生の三つには、全く差別がなく、同じものであると理解し、心から確信して妙法蓮華経と唱えたてまつるところを、「生死一大事の血脈」というのでる。
このことが日蓮の弟子檀那らにとっての肝要である。法華経を持つとは、この事を言うのである。
　
English Translations

" The Heritage of the Ultimate Law of Life "
　
 Shakyamuni Buddha who attained enlightenment countless kalpas ago, the Lotus Sutra that leads all people to Buddhahood, and we ordinary human beings are in no way different or separate from one another. To chant Myoho-renge-kyo with this realization is to inherit the ultimate Law of life and death. This is a matter of the utmost importance for Nichiren’s disciples and lay supporters, and this is what it means to embrace the Lotus Sutra.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
