兄弟の御力にて親父を法華経に入れまいらせさせ給いぬる御計らい偏に貴辺の御身にあり、又真実の経の御ことはりを代末になりて 仏法あながちに・みだれば大聖人世に出ずべしと見へて候、喩へば松のしもの後に木の王と見へ菊は草の後に仙草と見へて候 代のおさまれるには賢人見えず代の乱れたるにこそ聖人愚人は顕れ候へ

通解（意訳）
　
兄弟二人の力によって、父親を法華経の信心につかせることができたという、仏の御計らいはひとえにお兄さんとあなたの信心によるものである。
　また、真実の経である法華経の法理に照らせば、時代が末法となり、仏法がひどく乱れた時には、大聖人が必ず世に出現されるとある。

　たとえば、松は霜が降りたのちでも枯れないので、木の王といわれ、菊は他の草が枯れたのちにも、なお花を咲かせるので、仙草というのと同じである。
世の中が平穏なときには誰が賢人であるか分からないが、世の中が乱れている末法にこそ、聖人と愚人との違いが顕れるのである。

" A Father Takes Faith "
　
 The efforts of you brothers have led your father to take faith in the Lotus Sutra. It is wholly due to you, Hyōe no Sakan, that matters have worked out this way.

 According to the teachings of the true sutra, when the latter age has begun and Buddhism has fallen into complete disorder, a great sage will appear in the world.
 For example, the pine tree, which withstands the frost, is called the king of trees, and the chrysanthemum, which continues to bloom after other plants have withered, is known as a sacred plant.
 When the world is at peace, worthies are hard to distinguish. It is when the age is in turmoil that both sages and fools come into view.
