伝持の人（でんじ の ひと）無れば（なければ）猶（なお）木石（もく せき）の衣鉢（え はち）を帯持せるが如し

通解

（経典が残っていても）仏法を持ち、伝えていく人がいなければ、それはちょうど木や石で作られた像が、衣を着て、鉢を持っているようなもので、何の役にも立っていないようなものである。
