日蓮が法華経の智解（ちげ）は 天台（てんだい）・伝教（でんきょう）には 千万が一分（いちぶん）も及ぶ（およぶ）事なけれども 難（なん）を忍び（しのび）慈悲（じひ）のすぐれたる事は・をそれをも（恐れをも）・いだきぬべし

通解（意訳）

日蓮が法華経に対する智解は、中国の天台大師、日本の伝教大師に比べて、千万が一分もおよぶことはないけれども、いかなる難に耐え忍び、慈悲の心が勝れている点では、像法（ぞうほう）時代に法華経を説いた彼らは、末法において法華経を説いている日蓮に恐れをもいだくであろう。

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
