日蓮が慈悲曠大ならば南無妙法蓮華経は万年の外・未来までもながるべし - If Nichiren's compassion is truly great and encompassing, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo will spread for ten thousand years and more, for all eternity -

日蓮が慈悲曠大（じひこうだい）ならば南無妙法蓮華経は万年の外（まんねん の ほか）・未来までもながるべし（流布るべし）、日本国の一切衆生の盲目（いっさいしゅじょう の もうもく）をひらける功徳（くどく）あり、無間地獄の道（むげんじごく の みち）をふさぎぬ、此の功徳（この くどく）は伝教（でんきょう）・天台（てんだい）にも超へ竜樹（りゅうじゅ）・迦葉（かしょう）にもすぐれたり

「南無妙法蓮華経こそ、全世界のあらゆる人々を差別なく救い、自分自身の仏性に目覚め、自身の妙法の力で幸せをつかむことのできる、真実の法である。このことを、全人類に伝えなければならない」という、日蓮の慈悲の心が広大であるならば、南無妙法蓮華経は万年という時をも越えて、未来永遠に流布するに違いない。日本のあらゆる民衆の、暗く落ち込んでいる盲目の生命を開いた功徳がある。無間地獄の道をふさいで、あらゆる苦しみの根源を断ち切るのである。この功徳は、過去に法華経の教えを説いた日本の伝教大師、中国の天台大師も超えて、さらにはインドの竜樹菩薩、釈迦の十大弟子の一人である、迦葉尊者よりも優れているのである。

"On Repaying Debts of Gratitude"

If Nichiren's compassion is truly great and encompassing, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo will spread for ten thousand years and more, for all eternity, for it has the beneficial power to open the blind eyes of every living being in the country of Japan, and it blocks off the road that leads to the hell of incessant suffering. Its benefit surpasses that of Dengyo and T'ien-t'ai, and is superior to that of Nagarjuna and Mahakasyapa.

Liberal Translations.

"Only Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is, to salvation without discrimination to all people all over the world, and awaken to their own Buddha-nature, is the law of truth that can obtain the happiness with a force of its own Myoho. This to the whole world that to spread it ", if compassion of Nichiren is expansive, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is also beyond the time of million years, it must be spread to the future forever. Of all people of Japan, there is a merit that opened the blind life that down in the dumps dark. And blocking the hell of way to constantly continue to suffer without, it is to shake off the root of all suffering. This merit was preaching the teachings of the Lotus Sutra in the past, Japanese Dengyo, T'ien-t'ai also beyond China, even at one of the India of Nagarjuna and Buddha's ten most disciples, than Mahakasyapa than is being superior.
