総じて日蓮が弟子檀那等（でし だんな ら）・自他彼此（じたひし）の心なく水魚の思（すいぎょのおもい）を成して異体同心（いたいどうしん）にして南無妙法蓮華経と唱え奉る処（ところ）を生死一大事の血脈（しょうじいちだいじ の けつみゃく）とは云う（いう）なり、
然も（しかも）今日蓮が弘通（ぐつう）する処の所詮是なり（しょせん これ なり）、若し（もし）然らば広宣流布の大願も叶うべき者か

通解

総じて日蓮の弟子・檀那（門下生）達が、「自分と他人」「あちらとこちら」と分け隔てる心がなく、水と魚のように一体の思いを抱いて、異体同心（体は別々でも同じ志）で南無妙法蓮華経と唱えていくことを、生死一大事の血脈と言うのである。
しかも今、日蓮が弘めている法の最も大切な所はこれなのである。もし、私の門下生達がこの通りに実践していくならば、広宣流布という大願も叶うであろう。

"The Heritage of the Ultimate Law of Life"

All disciples and lay supporters of Nichiren should chant Nam-myoho-rege-kyo with the spirit of many in body but one in mind, transcending all differences among themselves to become as inseparable as fish and the water in which they swim.This spiritual bound is the basis for the universal transmission of the ultimate Law of life and death.
Herein lies the true goal of Nichiren's propagation.When you are so united, even the great desire for widespread propagation can be fulfilled.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
