Others read the Lotus Sutra with their mouths alone -

English Translations

"  Letter to Priest Nichirō in Prison "

Others read the Lotus Sutra with their mouths alone, in word alone, but they do not read it with their hearts. And even if they read it with their hearts, they do not read it with their actions. It is reading the sutra with both one’s body and mind that is truly praiseworthy.

"The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin",Vol.1,P204

Interpretation (liberal translation)

In words others and their own mouth, Read only the surface of the text that is written in the Lotus Sutra, you do not read in mind that trying to study the essential meaning of the text. And they even read the essence in mind, they are fit to own experience, is not being a reading that feel the essence in the body. It is that reading this Lotus Sutra both physically and mentally is to truly precious.
