人に物をほどこせば我が身のたすけとなる、譬へば人のために火をともせば・我がまへあきらかなるがごとし
食物三徳御書（１５９８頁） 年月不明
通解（意訳）人に物を施せば、それがかえって我が身を助けることになる。例えば、暗闇にいる人のために明かりを灯せば、同時に自分の前（周囲）も明るくなるようなものである。
