今末法に入りぬれば余経も法華経もせんなし、但南無妙法蓮華経なるべし - neither the Lotus Sutra nor the other sutras lead to enlightenment. Only Nam-myoho-renge-kyo can do so.
今末法に入りぬれば余経も法華経もせんなし（詮無し）、但（ただ）南無妙法蓮華経なるべし、
かう（こう）申し出だして候も（そうろう も）・わたくし（私）の計（はからい）にはあらず、釈迦（しゃか）・多宝（たほう）・十方の諸仏（じっぽう の しょぶつ）・地涌千界（じゆうせんかい）の御計（おんはからい）なり、
此の南無妙法蓮華経に余事をまじへば（交えば）・ゆゆしき（忌忌しき）ひが事（僻がこと）なり

通解今、時代は末法に入ったのであれば、諸教も法華経も無益である。ただ南無妙法蓮華経以外にない。
こう言い出しているのも、私（日蓮）が考えだした我見ではない。釈尊、多宝仏、十方の諸仏、地涌千界の菩薩のお計らいによることである。
この南無妙法蓮華経の題目を唱えていながら、偏った（僻んだ・ひがんだ）我見や他の諸教の修行などを交えてしまえば、それは大変な間違いである。
English Translations
" The Teaching for the Latter Day "
Now, in the Latter Day of the Law, neither the Lotus Sutra nor the other sutras lead to enlightenment. Only Nam-myoho-renge-kyo can do so.
This is not my own judgment. Shakyamuni, Many Treasures, the Buddhas of the ten directions, and the bodhisattvas who emerged from the earth as numerous as the dust particles of a thousand worlds have so determined it.
To mix other practices with this Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is a grave error.
