通解
　
「大国の王は、国民を親のように大切にし、国民は食物を天の如く尊重する」と書物に書かれている。食物には三つの徳がある。一には生命を継ぎ、二には色（顔色、肉体的健康）を増し、三には力（生命力、生きようとする心）を添え強くする徳である。
人に物を施せば、かえって我が身を助けることに繋がる。例えば、人のために灯をともしてあげれば、自分の前も明るくなるようなものである。

意訳
 
「大国の国王は、国の民を親のように大切にし、民は食物を天を仰ぐように大切にする」と書物に書いてある。
国が繁栄し存続するには、国民が大切であり、国民は生きていくために食物を大切にする。このように、国家の存続には人が大切であり、食物が最も大切なのである。
食物には３つの力が備わっている。命を維持する力、肉体的健康を増す力、精神力・生命力を高める力である。
このように、大切な食物を御本尊にご供養し、人に差し上げれば、その功徳が必ず顕れ、自分自身を供養し、助ける事につながるのである。
たとえば、不安や苦悩という暗闇に包まれていて、生きる道筋を見失っている人に、話を聞き、励ましや優しい言葉をかけ、共に前進しようとする慈悲の灯火を差し上げれば、同時に自分が抱えている不安や苦悩の解決への道も明るく照らしだされ、共に前進できるようなものである。
　
English Translations

"  On the Three Virtues of Food "
　
It is written that the ruler of a large state looks on the people as his parent, and the people look on food as their Heaven.
Food has three virtues. First, it sustains life. Second, it enlivens the complexion. Third, it nourishes strength.

If one gives food to others, one will improve one’s own lot, just as, for example, if one lights a fire for others, one will brighten one’s own way.

Interpretation (liberal translation)
　
 It's written on a book "A king of a large country makes the national people important like a parent, and people make the food important so that they may look up at heaven." The people are important for a country to prosper and continue, and the people make the food important to live. Thus a person is important to state continuation, and a food is most important.

 And , The Food has 3 of the power. The power which maintains the life, The power which increases physical health, The power which raises emotional strength and life force.
Thus when holding a service for an important food in a Gohonzon [ principal image ] and giving it to a person, the act of charity is discovered certainly, and it leads to hold a service for oneself and help.

 For example being wrapped in anxiety and darkness as anguish, and hearing talk for the person who loses sight of the reason through which he lives, and when giving an encouragement and a gentle light of the mercy which tries to speak and move ahead together to you, the anxiety one holds at the same time and a route to a solution of anguish are also illuminated brightly, and you can move ahead together.
