此の経（この きょう）を 経のごとくにとく人（説く人）に値う（あう）ことは 難（なん）にて候（そうろう）、
設い（たとい）一眼（いちげん）の亀の浮木（ふぼく）には値うとも・はちす（蓮）のいと（糸）をもって須弥山（しゅみせん）をば 虚空（おおぞら）にかくとも 法華経を経のごとく説く人にあいがたし

通解
法華経を経文の通りに説く人に巡りあうことは難しい。たとえ一眼の亀が浮き木に巡りあうことがあっても、蓮の糸で須弥山を大空に吊るすことができたとしても、法華経を経文の通りに説く人に巡りあうことは難しいのである。

It is even more difficult than for a one-eyed turtle to find a piece of floating sandalwood, or for someone to hang Mount Sumeru from the sky with the fiber from a lotus stem.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
