通解（意訳）
　
末法に入って、今日蓮が唱えている題目というのは、釈尊が法華経を顕してから今までの時代（正法、像法時代）に、悟りの境地を開いた一部の人だけが唱えることができた題目とは異なり、自分だけでなく他人にも勧める、「自行化他（自分も行い他人も教化する）」にわたって唱える南無妙法蓮華経なのである。

Now, however, we have entered the Latter Day of the Law, and the daimoku that I, Nichiren, chant is different from that of earlier ages . [Only the person who could achieve Buddhahood could chant daimoku after Buddha publicizes a Lotus Sutra, the former time]. 
This Nam-myoho-renge-kyo encompasses both practice for oneself and the teaching of others.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
