末法の仏とは凡夫（ぼんぷ）なり 凡夫僧（ぼんぷ そう）なり、法とは題目なり 僧とは我等 行者（われら ぎょうじゃ）なり、仏とも云われ（いわれ）又 凡夫僧とも云わるるなり

御義口伝　常不軽品三十箇の大事（７６６頁）

通解（意訳）
　
末法の仏とは、ありのままの人間の姿（凡夫）であり、法を悟っている凡夫は、凡夫僧である。
法とは、南無妙法蓮華経の題目のことである。
僧とは、題目を唱え広宣流布の為に闘っている、我々法華経の行者の事である。
このことから、凡夫僧とは、三大秘法の南無妙法蓮華経を信受し、厳しい現実社会を信心根本として生き抜いている姿そのものであり、その姿を「仏」とも「凡夫僧」とも言われるのである。

" O.T.T Chapter Twenty : The Bodhisattva Never Disparaging "
　
The Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law, is an ordinary mortal and an ordinary priest. 
The “Law” is the daimoku. 
The “community of monks” is we practitioners of the Lotus Sutra.
We may be called Buddhas, and we may also be called ordinary priests, because “to have a profound realization of the perfect principle is called being a Buddha”. The perfect principle is the Lotus Sutra.
