法華経の師子王を持つ女人は一切の地獄・餓鬼・畜生等の百獣に恐るる事なし、譬えば女人の一生の間の御罪は 諸の乾草の如し 法華経の妙の一字は小火の如し、小火を衆草につきぬれば 衆草焼け亡ぶるのみならず 大木大石 皆 焼け失せぬ、妙の一字の智火 以て 此くの如し 諸罪消ゆるのみならず 衆罪かへりて功徳となる

通解（意訳）
　
　法華経の師子王の心を持つ女人は、一切の地獄・餓鬼・畜生等の百獣を恐れることはない。例えば、女人の一生の間の罪障は、諸々の乾いた草のようなものである。法華経の肝心である、南無妙法蓮華経の妙の一字は、火花（小火）のようなものである。
　火花を乾いた草につけるならば、多くの草が焼け亡ぶだけでなく、大木や大石をも全て焼け失せてしまう。妙の一字の智慧の火とは、このようなものである。諸罪が消えるだけでなく、諸罪が変じて功徳となるのである。
　
　
English Translations

" The Drum at the Gate of Thunder "
　
 A woman who embraces the lion king of the Lotus Sutra never fears any of the beasts of hell or of the realms of hungry spirits and animals.
 All the offenses committed by a woman in her lifetime are like dry grass, and the single character myō [ of the Nam-myoho-renge-kyo ] of the Lotus Sutra is like a small spark. When a small spark is set to a large expanse of grass, not only the grass but also the big trees and large stones will all be consumed.
 Such is the power of the fire of wisdom in the single character myō. Not only will all offenses vanish, but they will become sources of benefit.
