通解（意訳）
法華経の肝心であり・諸仏の眼目である妙法蓮華経の五字が、末法の始めに全世界に広まっていくきっかけとして、日蓮がその先駆を切った。わが門下一党の者も、二陣・三陣と日蓮に続いて正法を弘通して、法華経を伝えてきた先人達である、迦葉・阿難にも勝り、天台・伝教をも超えていきなさい。

Now, at the beginning of the Latter Day of the Law, I, Nichiren, am the first to embark on propagating, throughout Jambudvīpa, the five characters of Myoho-renge-kyo, which are the heart of the Lotus Sutra and the eye of all Buddhas.
During the 2,220 or more years since the Buddha’s passing, not even  Mahākāshyapa, Ānanda, Ashvaghosha, Nāgārjuna, Nan-yüeh, T’ien-t’ai, Miao-lo, or Dengyō has propagated them. My disciples, form your ranks and follow me, and surpass even Mahākāshyapa or Ānanda, T’ien-t’ai or Dengyō!

Interpretation (liberal translation) 
Mahākāshyapa, Ānanda, Ashvaghosha, Nāgārjuna, Nan-yüeh...
They are the Buddhas or The Wise men who have been teaching the Lotus Sutra.
However, they could not told the truth of The Lotus Sutra because Their time had not coming.

本文 人に物をほどこせば 我が身のたすけとなる、 譬へば 人のために火をともせば・我が まへあきらかなるがごとし 食物三徳御書 （１５９８頁） 年月不明 通解（意訳） 人に物を施せば、かえって我が身を助けることに繋がる。 例えば、人のために灯をともしてあげれば、自分の前も明るくなるようなものである。 菩薩の心の信心 「人のため」（利他のため）だけを言うと、傲慢になる。「人を救ってあげている」偽善になる。 自分のためにもなっている事を自覚して、初めて『修行させてもらっている』『学ばせてもらっている』という謙虚さが出る。 自他不二です。 人のために尽くしただけ、自分の生命に福運が積まれる。これが『菩薩道』なのです。 - 池田大作 English Gosho  If one gives food to others, one will improve one’s own lot,  just as,  for example, if one lights a fire for others, one will brighten one’s own way.
