通解（意訳）
法華経を他の人が読む時は、書いてある文章をそのまま口や言葉で読んでも、「文章の奥底に込められた意味（文底）を考える」という求道心では読まない。また、文底を心で読んだとしても、その意味を自身の体験に置き換えたり、今の状況に当てはめて読まない。
（あなたが）身と心（色心二法）と共に、文底を読まれることは、尊いことなのである。

Others read the Lotus Sutra with their mouths alone, in word alone, but they do not read it with their hearts. And even if they read it with their hearts, they do not read it with their actions.
It is reading the sutra with both one’s body and mind that is truly praiseworthy.

Interpretation (liberal translation) 
When the others read the Lotus Sutra or the Gosho, they just only read the text in their mouth and words, they does not try to read at “The seekers for truth”; which means “Think about the meaning embedded in the bottom of the sentence”.
Or, even if they read the bottom of the sentence with their heart, they do not try to read it in the sense that it replaces its meaning with its own experience or applies it to the current situation.
It is very precious things that you read the embedded in the bottom of the sentence with both body and mind.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.
