通解（意訳）
　
人の目に見えないところで行なった徳（善行）も、自身の生命に全て蓄積されて、やがて必ず現実として目に見える果報（功徳）があらわれる。

  • 陰の労苦にこそ、偉大な功徳がある

『私は青春時代、すべてをなげうって、戸田先生のもとで働いた。戦後の混乱の中、先生の事業が苦境に陥り、周囲の人々が次々と去っても、私は一人残り、耐えて戦った。それが陰徳となって、今日の学会の大興隆を、同志と共に築いてきたのである。』

" Unseen Virtue and visible reward "
　
These virtues are stored in your mind, There is visible reward. 
[ Even if nobody sees your good act, the virtue is accumulated all to the life of yourself. and, a visible benefit appears before long absolutely. ]

" I cast all aside in the youth and worked with Mr. Toda. In postwar confusion, the business of the teacher fell into a difficult situation. Even if neighboring people left in sequence, I stayed and I endured it and fought.
It became the invisible virtue and built the great prosperity of Soka Gakkai with a comrade. "

本文 人に物をほどこせば 我が身のたすけとなる、 譬へば 人のために火をともせば・我が まへあきらかなるがごとし 食物三徳御書 （１５９８頁） 年月不明 通解（意訳） 人に物を施せば、かえって我が身を助けることに繋がる。 例えば、人のために灯をともしてあげれば、自分の前も明るくなるようなものである。 菩薩の心の信心 「人のため」（利他のため）だけを言うと、傲慢になる。「人を救ってあげている」偽善になる。 自分のためにもなっている事を自覚して、初めて『修行させてもらっている』『学ばせてもらっている』という謙虚さが出る。 自他不二です。 人のために尽くしただけ、自分の生命に福運が積まれる。これが『菩薩道』なのです。 - 池田大作 English Gosho  If one gives food to others, one will improve one’s own lot,  just as,  for example, if one lights a fire for others, one will brighten one’s own way. 湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
