法華経を信ずる人は冬のごとし 冬は必ず春となる、いまだ昔より きかず・みず 冬の秋と かへれる事を、いまだきかず 法華経を信ずる人の凡夫となる事を

通解（意訳）
　
法華経を信ずる人は、極寒の冬の辛い時期を耐える人のようなものである。しかし、辛い冬も永遠に続くことはなく、信心根本に耐え貫いていけば、必ず春のような幸福が訪れるのである。

未だかつて、冬が春とならずに秋に戻ったということは、聞いたことも見たこともない。同じように、いまだかつて法華経を信ずる人が、仏に成らず凡夫のままである、ということも聞いたことがない。

" Winter Always Turns to Spring "
　
Those who believe in the Lotus Sutra are as if in winter, but winter always turns to spring. Never, from ancient times on, has anyone heard or seen of winter turning back to autumn. Nor have we ever heard of a believer in the Lotus Sutra who turned into an ordinary person.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
