通解（意訳）
日本国の４９９万４千８百２８人の男女は、それぞれに父母があるといえども、その究極を尋ねれば、教主釈尊の子なのである。
全世界の人々は教主釈尊の子であり、主師親の三徳を備えた日蓮大聖人の子であるから、その万人の子達にも等しく仏の生命が備わっているのである。
（億は当時の十万に当たるので、四十九億九万…とは、四十九億（４９０万）＋九万…を足して４９９万…となる。）
