一閻浮提に 人ごとに有智無智を きらはず 一同に他事をすてて 南無妙法蓮華経と唱うべし、此の事いまだ・ひろまらず 一閻浮提の内に仏滅後・二千二百二十五年が間 一人も唱えず 日蓮一人・南無妙法蓮華経・南無妙法蓮華経等と 声も をしまず 唱うるなり

通解（意訳）
　
全世界の人々が、仏法の知識のある者と、知恵のない者の区別なく、皆が一同に他の経を捨てて、南無妙法蓮華経と唱えるべきである。この事は未だに弘まっておらず、全世界において、釈尊滅後２２２５年の間、一人として唱えなかった。日蓮が初めて、南無妙法蓮華経、南無妙法蓮華経と声を惜しまず唱えているのである。

" On Repaying Debts of Gratitude "
　
Every person, regardless of whether wise or ignorant, will set aside other practices and join in the chanting of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. This teaching has never been taught before.
 Here in the entire land of Jambudvīpa, in all the 2,225 years since the passing of the Buddha, not a single person chanted it. Nichiren alone, without sparing his voice, now chants Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
