されば 心中に含みたる事も 使者 玉章に あらざれば 申すに及ばず 歎かし 歎かし、
当年の 大厄をば 日蓮に 任せ給へ
いまはおんごくにきょじゅうそうろうによりてめんえつをごすることさらになし、
さればしんちゅうにふくみたることもししゃたまずさにあらざればもうすにおよばずなげかしなげかし、
とうねんのたいやくをばにちれんにまかせたまえ

今は遠国の身延に住んでいるので、お会いすることはかなわない。
そうであるから、心の中に思っている事も、使者や手紙でなければ伝えることができない。嘆かわしいことである。
（あなた：太田左衛門尉が心配している）今年の大厄のことは、日蓮に任せなさい。

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
