かつへて（飢えて）食をねがひ（願い）・渇して（かつして）水をしたう（慕う）がごとく・恋いて（こいて）人を見たきがごとく・　病（やまい）に くすりを たのむがごとく、みめかたち（見目 形）よき人・べに（紅）しろいものを つくるがごとく・法華経には信心をいたさせ給へ

飢えた時に食べ物を求めて、のどが渇いた時に水を欲しがるように、恋しい人を見たいように、病気になって薬を頼りにするように、美しい人が紅や白粉（おしろい）をつけるのと同じように、法華経には信心をしていきなさい。

As you crave food when hungry, seek water when thirsty, long to see a lover, beg for medicine when ill, or as a beautiful woman desires powder and rouge, so should you put your faith in the Lotus Sutra. If you do not, you will regret it later.

Interpretation (liberal translation)
　
As you crave food when hungry, seek water when thirsty, long to see a lover, beg for medicine when ill, or as a beautiful woman desires powder and rouge, so should you put your faith in the Lotus Sutra. Rather, it is rebelled against own mind, is meaningless even if the forcibly to faith, you will regret it later

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
