日蓮が一類は異体同心なれば人人すくなく候へども大事を成じて・一定（いちじょう）法華経ひろまりなんと覚へ候、悪は多けれども一善にかつ事なし、譬へば多くの火 あつまれども一水にはきゑぬ

通解（意訳）
　
日蓮の一門は異体同心（いたいどうしん・人数は少ないが心は一つである）であるから、人数は少ないけれども、広宣流布という大事を成し遂げ、必ず法華経は広まるであろうと思うのである。悪は多くても、一善に勝つことはない。例えば、多くの火が集まっても、たった一水（一度の雨）で消えてしまうようなものである。。

 Although Nichiren and his followers are few, because they are different in body, but united in mind, they will definitely accomplish their great mission of widely propagating the Lotus Sutra.
 Though evils may be numerous, they cannot prevail over a single great truth, just as many raging fires are quenched by a single shower of rain. This principle also holds true with Nichiren and his followers.
