 行者は必ず不実なりとも・智慧はをろかなりとも・身は不浄なりとも・戒徳は備へずとも・南無妙法蓮華経と申さば必ず守護し給うべし

もし行者であるかは真実でないにしても、智慧は愚かであっても、身は不浄であっても、戒徳は備えていなくても、ただ南無妙法蓮華経とならば、必ず諸天善神から守護されるべきである。

 It makes no difference if the practitioner [ of the Lotus Sutra] himself is lacking in worth, defective in wisdom, impure in his person, and lacking in virtue derived from observing the precepts. 蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
