如何にも後生をたしなみ給ふべし・たしなみ給ふべし、穴賢・南無妙法蓮華経とばかり唱へて仏になるべき事尤も大切なり、信心の厚薄によるべきなり 仏法の根本は信を以て源とす

通解（意訳）
　
なんとしても、来世の福運をも得るために、信心に励んでいきなさい。「南無妙法蓮華経」とだけ唱えて、仏の境涯を成いていく事が最も大切である。成仏を成し遂げる事ができるかどうかは、ひとえに信心の厚薄によるのである。仏法の根本は信をもって源とするのである。

 Make every possible effort for the sake of your next life. What is most important is that, by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo alone, you can attain Buddhahood. It will no doubt depend on the strength of your faith. To have faith is the basis of Buddhism.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
