末法において日蓮とその門下の修行とは、南無妙法蓮華経の題目を勧めていく「折伏行」であり、仏法対話である。この折伏行の時には、様々な困難が競い起きてくる。これを乗り越える事で自己が鍛えられ、何事にも動じない「安楽な境涯を得る事ができる」と心得るべきである。

Concerning the “peaceful” practices of the Lotus Sutra of the Wonderful Law and the practices carried out by Nichiren and his followers now in the Latter Day of the Law, you should understand that, when one practices the Lotus Sutra under such circumstances, difficulties will arise, and these are to be looked on as “peaceful” practices.
[The peaceful practices are "Shakubuku". It's to suggest chanting the Daimoku in Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo to the others.]

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
