通解（意訳）
法華経従地湧出品第十五に「本化の菩薩は、世間の間違った法に染まらないことは、あたかも蓮華が泥水の中にありながら、清らかであることと同じである。しかも、この本化の菩薩は大地から湧出した」と説かれている通り、地湧の菩薩が当体蓮華でなのである。

English Gosho
The sutra says, “ [They are] unsoiled by worldly things like the lotus flower in the water. Emerging from the earth . . . ” Here we see that the Bodhisattvas of the Earth are the lotus of the entity of the Mystic Law, and that the lotus is being used here as a simile.
