法華経は 一句一偈も末代に持ちがたしと・とかるるは・これなるべし、今度・強盛の菩提心を・をこして 退転せじと願しぬ。

通解（意訳）
　法華経は一句一偈ですら、末法に持つことは困難であると説かれているのは、宝塔品にある六難九易の事なのである。

　この事に気づいたので、今度こそ強盛の大菩提心を起こして、いかなる大難に遭っても、絶対に退転しないと誓願したのである。

English Gosho
[ I;Nichiren noticed to ] the difficulty of embracing even one phrase or verse of the Lotus Sutra in the Latter Day of the Law.

 Nevertheless, I vowed to summon up a powerful and unconquerable desire for the salvation of all beings and never to falter in my efforts.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
