生死の長夜を照す大燈・元品の無明を切る利剣は此の法門に過ぎざるか
しょうじ の ちょうや を てらす だいとう・がんぽん の むみょう を きる りけん は この ほうもん に すぎざるか

生死の悩みや苦しみという長い夜を照らすほどの大きな燈明、衆生の元品の無明（生命が迷っている状態）を断ち斬り、本来持っている仏性を開く利剣は、この法門をおいて他にはないのである。
