いきてをはしき時は生の仏・今は死の仏・生死ともに仏なり - When he was alive, he was a Buddha in life, and now he is a Buddha in death. He is a Buddha in both life and death.

いきて をはしき時は 生の仏・今は 死の仏・生死ともに仏なり、即身成仏と申す大事の法門 これなり

通解(意訳)
信心を受持して亡くなられた方は、生きておられた時は生の仏・今は死の仏・生死ともに仏なのである。即身成仏という大事の法門は、このことである。


English Gosho
When he was alive, he was a Buddha in life, and now he is a Buddha in death. He is a Buddha in both life and death. This is what is meant by that most important doctrine called attaining Buddhahood in one’s present form.
