外典に曰く未萠をしるを聖人という 内典に云く三世を知るを聖人という
余に三度のかうみようあり

通解（意訳）
仏教以外の外道の経典には、「将来に起きる事を知っている者を聖人という」とある。仏教の経典には「過去、現在、未来の三世を知るのを聖人という」とある。
日蓮には、三度の功績*がある。
*二度の蒙古襲来（他国侵逼難：たこく しんぴつ なん、他国からの侵略）、
時の権力者である北条一門の同士討ちである二月騒動（自界叛逆難：じかい ほんぎゃく なん、内乱）

English Gosho
In the secular texts it says, “A sage is one who fully understands those things that have not yet made their appearance.”
And in the Buddhist texts it says, “A sage is one who knows the three existences of life—past, present, and future.”
Three times now I have gained distinction by having such knowledge.*
* Two attacks of Mongol empire [: Disasters of foreign invasion],
And the confusion of February occurred as the civil war of the Hojo clan, the power of this generation [: Internal strife].
