一念三千こそ仏になるべき道とみゆれ、此の一念三千も我等一分の慧解もなし、而ども一代経経の中には此の経計り一念三千の玉をいだけり

通解（意訳）
一念三千の法理こそ、成仏の唯一の道である。しかし、この一念三千について、私達は一部分でも悟る知恵や理解はもっていない。
それでも、釈尊が一生の間に説いた様々な経の中には、この法華経だけが、一念三千という、万人成仏の宝玉を抱いているのである。

English Gosho
[Only the]doctrine of three thousand realms in a single moment of life is the path to Buddhahood. Even in the case of this doctrine of three thousand realms in a single moment of life, we do not possess the kind of wisdom and understanding to comprehend it fully.
Nevertheless, among all the sutras preached by the Buddha during his lifetime, the Lotus Sutra alone contains this jewel that is the doctrine of three thousand realms in a single moment of life.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
