釈迦仏と法華経の文字とは かはれども 心は一つなり、
然れば 法華経の文字を拝見せさせ給うは 生身の釈迦如来に あひ進らせたりと・おぼしめすべし

釈迦仏と法華経の文字とは、形は変わっていても、一切衆生を救いたいという心は一つである。
そうであるから、法華経の文字を拝見することは、生身の釈迦如来をあおいでいるのだと思いなさい。

Shakyamuni Buddha and the written words of the Lotus Sutra are two different things, but their heart is one.
Therefore, when you cast your eyes upon the words of the Lotus Sutra, you should consider that you are beholding the living body of the Thus Come One Shakyamuni.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
