御心ざしのあらわれて候事 申すばかりなし、せんするところは・こ なんでう どの （故 南条 殿）の法華経の御しんようの ふかかりし事の あらわるるか、王の心ざしをば臣のべ・をや の 心ざしをば 子の 申し のぶる とは これなり、あわれ こ との（故 殿） の・うれしと・をぼすらん。

通解（意訳）
（衣食等のご供養に対して、）御供物に表れている御志しは、言葉では申しつくすことができない。それも結局は、（南条時光の父上であられた）故・南条兵衛七郎殿の法華経の御信用が深かった事の表れであろうか。王の志しは忠臣が述べ、親の志しを、子が申し述べるとは、このことである。故殿（南条殿）は嬉しく思っておられるであろう。

 English Translations
" The Story of Ōhashi no Tarō "
 I do not know how to thank you for the sincerity you have shown in sending these articles.
 In the end, it must be an indication of the depth of the late Nanjō's* faith in the Lotus Sutra. This is what is meant by the statement that a minister proclaims his ruler's sincerity, while a son proclaims his father's sincerity. The late Nanjō is probably delighted.
