いよいよ強盛の御志あるべし、冰は水より出でたれども水よりもすさまじ、青き事は藍より出でたれども・かさぬれば藍よりも色まさる、
同じ法華経にては・をはすれども志をかさぬれば・他人よりも色まさり利生もあるべきなり
いよいよ ごうじょう の おんこころざし あるべし、こおり は みず より いでたれども みず よりも すさまじ、あおき ことは あい より いでたれども・かさぬれば あい よりも いろ まさる、
おなじ ほけきょう にては・おわすれども こころざし を かさぬれば・たにん よりも いろ まさり りしょう も あるべきなり

通解（意訳）
いよいよ強盛な信心を起こしていきなさい。氷は水からできるが、水よりも冷たい。
青い色は、藍という草から生まれるが、重ねて染めれば、もとの藍の葉よりも色が鮮やかになる。
同じ法華経ではあっても、信心を重ねていくならば、他人よりも生命の輝きが増し、利益もあらわれてくるのである。

Strengthen your resolve more than ever.
Ice is made of water, but it is colder than water. Blue dye comes from indigo, but when something is repeatedly dyed in it, the color is better than that of the indigo plant.
The Lotus Sutra remains the same, but if you repeatedly strengthen your resolve, your color will be better than that of others, and you will receive more blessings than they do.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
