仏法あながちに・みだれば大聖人世に出ずべしと見へて候、
喩へば松のしもの後に木の王と見へ 菊は草の後に仙草と見へて候
代のおさまれるには賢人見えず代の乱れたるにこそ聖人愚人は顕れ候へ
ぶっぽう あながちに・みだれば だいしょうにん よ に いずべし と みえて そうろう、
たとえば まつ の しも の あと に き の おう と みえ きく は くさ の あと に せんそう と みえて そうろう
よ の おさまれる には けんじん みえず よ の みだれ たる に こそ しょうにん ぐにん は あらわれ そうらえ

通解（意訳）
末法に入って、仏法がひどく乱れた時には、大聖人が必ず世に出現されるとある。たとえば、松の木は、霜が降りた後でも枯れないので、木の王といわれ、菊の花は、他の草が枯れた後にも、なお花を咲かせるので、仙草というのと同じである。
世の中が平穏なときには誰が賢人であるか分からないが、世の中が乱れている末法にこそ、聖人と愚人との違いが顕れるのである。

When the latter age has begun and Buddhism has fallen into complete disorder, a great sage will appear in the world.
For example, the pine tree, which withstands the frost, is called the king of trees, and the chrysanthemum, which continues to bloom after other plants have withered, is known as a sacred plant.
When the world is at peace, worthies are hard to distinguish. It is when the age is in turmoil that both sages and fools come into view.
