命と申す物は一身第一の珍宝なり 一日なりとも・これを延るならば千万両の金にもすぎたり、法華経の一代の聖教に超過して いみじきと申すは寿量品のゆへぞかし

通解（意訳）
命というものは人間が持っている第一の珍しい宝である。一日でも寿命を延ばすならば、千万両の金にもまさる。法華経が仏教の中で最も優れている理由は、「あらゆる生命の中に仏性が存在する」ということが、法華経の如来寿量品第十六に説かれているからであり、その生命を一日でも長く寿命を延ばす事ができるからである。

 今日は池田大作先生の、９０歳『卒寿」のお誕生日です。
池田先生、本当におめでとうございます！
English Gosho
 Life is the most precious of all treasures. Even one extra day of life is worth more than ten million ryō [; a currency unit of Japan ] of gold. The Lotus Sutra surpasses all the other sacred teachings of the Buddha’s lifetime because of the “Life Span” chapter.
" The "On Prolonging One’s Life Span" Chapter 16 of the Lotus Sutra " is,
We everyday chanting  in Gongyo of 
"Myo-ho-renge-kyo, Nyorai-juryou-hon-Dai-Ju-Roku".

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
