つちのもちゐを仏に供養せし人は王となりき、
法華経は仏にまさらせ給う法なれば 供養せさせ給いて、
いかでか今生にも利生にあづかり 後生にも仏にならせ給はざるべき

通解（意訳）
土の餅を釈尊に供養した人は、のちに国王となった。
法華経は釈尊より勝れた法であるから、この法華経に供養された人が、どうして今生でも利益（りやく）をあずかることができ、後生に仏になれないはずがあるだろうか。

English Gosho
 A man who offered a mud pie to the Buddha was reborn as a king.
Because the Lotus Sutra is a teaching superior to the Buddha, having made offerings to it,
how could you possibly fail to both enjoy benefit in this lifetime and attain Buddhahood in the next?

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
