友にあふて礼あれ とは友達の一日に十度・二十度来れる人なりとも千里・二千里・来れる人の如く思ふて 礼儀いささか・をろかに思うべからず

通解（意訳）
友に会ったら礼儀正しくあれ、というのは、友達で一日に１０回、２０回と訪ねてくる人であっても、千里・二千里の遠くから訪ねてきた人のように思って、少しも礼儀をおろそかにしてはならない。

English Gosho
 Treating one’s friends with courtesy means that, although one may encounter them ten or twenty times in the course of a single day, one greets them courteously as though they had traveled a thousand or two thousand miles to see one, never showing them indifference.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
