但し御信心によるべし、つるぎなんども・すすまざる人のためには用る事なし、法華経の剣は信心のけなげなる人こそ用る事なれ鬼に・かなぼうたるべし

通解（意訳）
ただし、（祈りが叶うかどうかは）信心によるのである。
剣なども、戦いに勝つために前進する勇気のない人のためには何の役にも立たない。法華経（御本尊）という利剣は、信心の健気な人が用いる時こそ、役に立つのであり、鬼に金棒なのである。

English Gosho
 But your faith alone will determine all these things. A sword is useless in the hands of a coward. The mighty sword of the Lotus Sutra must be wielded by one courageous in faith. Then one will be as strong as a demon armed with an iron staff.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
