経とは 一切衆生の言語音声を経と云うなり、釈に云く 声仏事を為す 之を名けて経と為すと

通解（意訳）
(南無妙法蓮華経の)
経とは、一切衆生の言葉や発する音、声をいうのである。章安大師は、「声が仏の振る舞いをなす。これを名付けて経という」といっているように、南無妙法蓮華経こそ最高の法であり、最高の音声（おんじょう）なのである。

English Gosho
Kyō [ of the Nam-Myōho-Renge-Kyō ] represents the words and voices of all living beings. A commentary [On “The Profound Meaning,” volume one] says, “The voice carries out the work of the Buddha, and this is called kyō, or sutra.”

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
