通解（意訳）
「従藍而青（じゅうらんにしょう）」とは「藍よりして而も青し（あい よりして しかも あおし）」と読む。これは、藍染めで布を染める時、藍は葉の時よりも、繰り返し染めれば染めるほど、いよいよ青さが増していく、という意味である。

法華経は藍のようであり、修行が深いのは、藍が染めるに従って、ますます青くなるようなものである。

English Gosho
“From the indigo, an even deeper blue.” This passage means that, if one dyes something repeatedly in indigo, it becomes even bluer than the indigo leaves.

 The Lotus Sutra is like the indigo, and the strength of one’s practice is like the deepening blue.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
