始めて我 心 本来の仏なりと知るを 即ち 大歓喜 と 名く 所謂 南無妙法蓮華経は 歓喜の中の大歓喜なり

通解（意訳）
初めて自分自身が本来の仏なのだと知ることを、すなわち大歓喜というのである。いわゆる南無妙法蓮華経と唱えていくことは、自分自身の仏の境涯を開いていける、歓喜の中の大歓喜なのである。

English Gosho
 This passage refers to the great joy that one experiences when one understands for the first time that one’s mind from the very beginning has been a Buddha. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is the greatest of all joys.

湿れる木より火を出し乾ける土より水を儲けんが如く強盛に申すなり - praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parched ground.

蒼蝿驥尾に附して万里を渡り 碧蘿松頭に懸りて千尋を延ぶ - A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet.
